Who it actually solves a problem for
Couples who disagree on firmness, and buyers who have never slept on a foam mattress and would rather not gamble on a single firmness. It is also a sensible choice for a guest room, where whoever stays gets a choice. What it cannot do is offer two different firmnesses at the same time -- for that you need two mattresses or a split bed.
