Most of what makes a mattress good or bad is invisible from the outside: the density of the foam, how it is layered, and whether the manufacturer cut corners where you cannot see. High-resilience (HR) foam is not the same material as the cheap polyurethane foam used in budget mattresses. It has a more open cell structure, which means it springs back faster when you shift position, breathes better through a warm night, and holds its shape for years rather than months. That recovery matters most if you move a lot in your sleep or share the bed — foam that collapses slowly leaves you sleeping in a dip that took shape hours ago.
Density is the number that matters and the one most brands do not print. Higher-density HR foam costs more to make, weighs more, and lasts longer under the same body weight. It is the main reason two mattresses that look identical in a showroom can be several thousand rupees apart.
Firmness is personal, but sleeping position narrows it down quickly:
Indian mattress sizes are quoted in inches as width by length. Single beds are usually 36×72 or 36×78, small doubles and diwans 48×72 or 48×78, queens 60×72 or 60×78, and kings 72×78, 75×78 or 78×78. Measure the inside of your bed frame rather than your old mattress, which may have spread or shrunk with age. If your frame falls between two standard sizes, take the smaller one — a mattress wedged into a tight frame develops permanent ridges along the edges.

Unroll it on your bed and it expands — allow up to 72 hours to reach full shape and for the manufacturing smell to clear. Mattresses can be returned within 7 days of delivery, and every mattress carries a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects and sagging beyond one inch. Damaged or defective items are replaced free.
